Echoes of Light: Andrius Zlabys in Madrid

Pianist and composer Andrius Zlabys will perform his ‘Echoes of Light’ programme at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid on 7 February 2025. He met with the esteemed magazine Melomano to talk about his work as a composing performer, Johann Sebastian Bach, César Franck and Luis Gustavo Prado.

What is the main theme of the recital, entitled ‘Echoes of Light’?

The recital is named after my piece with which I will be closing the program. The piece is a homage to Mozart. Echoes of Light is, in part, an idea—that music, in its many manifestations, is reflection, echoes of something ancient and eternal - primordial human gestures.

Prado’s music is, above all, emotionally truthful. Every note has meaning. There are no ‘tricks’ or ‘effects.’ It is true art.
